Obverse: III215 Date set in Normal position at 2.5 denticles right of the bust point. Ear lobe slightly tripled at bottom that fades away with weak strike and die wear. Die marker - Very slight doubling of nose bridge. |
Reverse: C4g Mint mark set high and slightly right with slant to left. Fine polishing lines in eagle's tail feathers and wings. Die marker: Diagonal polishing lines in wreath bow and tail feathers along with polishing lines in the eagle's wing-neck gap. |
Comments: This specimen has the reverse attributes of both dies based on the polish marks in the bow, the tail feathers, scribbles area and both wings. Per the Vamworld listing, normally the coin occurs with rotated reverse of 59-128 degrees CCW. This specimen does NOT have any rotation on the reverse. Also, there is double clashing on the left wreath from Liberty's lips, chin and nose bridge. There is also cap vee double clashing at the top of the right wreath. On the obverse, there is definitive counter clashing on Liberty's. Lastly, there is mild clashing on Liberty's lips nose and nose bridge. |
