Characteristics are described with a degree of granularity intended for die identification more so than for die classification. A characteristic may not span the entire die progression. Thus, not all characteristics may be present in any one coin.
Date is set at the Normal Left position. 1 is strongly doubled at the bottom of the top crossbar and slightly doubled at the bottom of the bottom crossbar.
Die scratch at the bustpoint towards the denticles.
Doulble clash of right wreath at the cap vee.
Dense polish lines in the LIBERTY banner and in/around the cotton bolls.
Weak clash line at Liberty's neck.
Counter clash marks at Liberty's lips and nose bridge.
Heavy polishing lines between wheat kenerls and leaves. Early die states also show polishing lines around PLURIBUS UNUM letters.
