Obverse: Attributes: Second 8 doubled at top right outside of upper loop, lower right of inside upper and lower loops. Slightly doubled first 8 at surface of inside upper loop. Slightly doubled profile at nose and lips. Markers: Small cracks between UR of PLURIBUS. Line between base of I and right wheat grain. Diagonal line in lower left serif of L and T of LIBERTY. Two parallel lines at floor of the wheat cotton leaf gap. Concentric lines cross cotton bolls onto the right cotton leaf. Concentric gouges inside ear. Pair of diagonal lines in D-void. Dot near floor of D-void. Pair of interrupted diagonal lines in hair swirl. Gouge cradled by the upper outside points of the second right star with a dot at the upper point. Reverse: Attributes: Mint Mark set Right, High, and Upright. Markers: Crosshatching of lines fill left wing gap. A long concentric scratch crosses outer wing feathers three through ten of the left wing. Short line bridges upper gap between tail feathers six and seven. Line from bottom of right leg feather crosses the fifth through seventh upper tail feathers. A diagonal and two horizontal lines cross upper tail feathers 6 and 7 and form a horizontal V with the apex at the third ring of the right leg and mirror Z. Two horizontal and diagonal line form a Z in left leg triangle. Interrupted vertical gouge in right leg triangle. Horizontal line upper right leg triangle. Diagonal lines in field at upper olive leaves. One gouge extends off left side of upper outer olive leaf. Dot on field between arrow feather and olive branch. Comments: Early mint stage is neither cracked or clashed. Late mint stage is cracked and clashed. Has been attributed as V21 by ANACS and V22 by VSS. |
