Re: Possibly 1879-P VAM-50-2 with additional features that may warrant revision.

Summary: This coin may satisfy the description for the base classification of VAM-50-2 plus revisions.

Attributes: Doubled 9 at the Left Outside of the Upper and Lower Loops. Heavy line through left foot of R extending through top left serif of T of LIBERTY.

Putative Additional Attributes: Doubled 8 at outside lower left of upper loop. Doubled to Sextupled left stars. Polished lower hair.

Obverse Markers: Metal at left inside upper loop of 9. Chip at upper right inside of ear. Dot on lower cap along curl below left end of hair ribbon. Polishing of curl at designer initial M.

Reverse Markers: Pitting with small gouges in left wing gap. Crosshatched polishing lines in right wing gap. Horizontal line along tenth from the bottom outer feather of the right wing. Horizontal lines between left thigh and upper horizontal tail feathers. Pitting of upper tail feathers at right leg. Minor doubling right base of N of UNITED. Minor doubling left leg A of DOLLAR. Polishing of the fourth left wreath cluster with disconnected leaves.
